Who we are

What we collect

• Business contact details of people at accountancy practices: name, role, firm, and professional profile information that is publicly available (for example on LinkedIn or a firm's website).
• What you send us when you reply to us, email us or book a call: your messages, contact details and anything else you choose to share.
• Website visits: this site sets no cookies and uses no analytics. Our hosting provider keeps standard server logs (such as IP addresses) for security and reliability.

Why we use it, and our lawful basis

• To contact practices about our service and follow up on conversations. Our lawful basis is legitimate interests: introducing a relevant professional service to people whose role makes it relevant to them.
• To respond to enquiries and take steps you ask for before any agreement (for example arranging a call or a back-test). Our lawful basis is taking steps at your request before a contract, or legitimate interests.

Client records you share for a back-test or pilot

If your practice sends us client records, we process them only on your instructions under a separate data-processing agreement, as your processor. That agreement, not this notice, governs those records.

Who we share it with

Only service providers who help us run the business, such as email, hosting and professional networking platforms. We don't sell personal data. Where a provider processes data outside the UK, we rely on appropriate safeguards such as UK adequacy regulations or the UK International Data Transfer Agreement.

How long we keep it

Prospect contact details are kept for up to 12 months after our last contact, or deleted sooner if you ask. Correspondence connected to an agreement is kept for as long as needed for that agreement and our legal obligations.

Your rights

You can ask for access to your data, correction, erasure or restriction, and you can object to our use of it. If you ask us to stop contacting you, we will. Email hello@broughtforward.co.uk. If you're unhappy with how we've handled your data, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk).
